Concept Connections
Concept Connections is an interactive AI demonstration created for The Stewardship
Network Conference 2026.
Its objective is to show how a large language model (LLM) can recognize and explain
relationships between ideas. Enter three ecological concepts, and the app asks Claude
to find surprising connections using ecological knowledge, restoration practice,
natural history, human systems, and metaphor.
Features
- Enter three concepts, such as prairie fire, monarch butterfly, and highway corridor.
- Generate an AI-written explanation of the connections between them.
- Choose from five response styles: Field Guide, Cynical Ecologist, Nature Folklore, Delighted Naturalist, and Ecological Poetry.
- Choose a response length of 30, 60, or 90 words, or three paragraphs.
- Browse anonymous past responses.
- Read an explanation of how LLMs make these connections and how the app was built.
